Strong women helping a strong woman and her family achieve the dream of homeownership.
Teams can have up to 10 members- men permitted on women-led teams.
Teams form thru April, compete in friendly team fundraising in May, and each team will have a dedicated team build day in June.
All teams will build at 15 Liberty Road in Aberdeen, MD.
The build will start with a foundation slab. The goal is to have the house framed, roofed, and sided by the end of June.
No construction experience needed for team members! We provide the tools, safety equipment and on-the-job training. You provide the enthusiasm and willing heart.
Gather friends, family, co-workers, church members, and clubs to form a team! Teams are women-led, but can have up to 10 men and women join in. Be sure to think of a fun team name – it will be listed on site sign in front of Eureka’s house.
Here is more information about forming or joining a team:
- Anyone over 16 can be on a team!
- Teams are forming now and need to be set by April 30.
- All teams (and those interested in joining a team) are invited to our Launch Day event on April 1 where you will see blueprints of the house being built, hear about the construction plans, and meet Eureka, the homebuyer you are helping.
- Each team will have a team page that can easily be shared by email or social media to make fund and friend-raising easy! Don’t worry – we’ll create the page for you!
- Teams will compete against each other from May 1 – May 31 to see who can raise the most money and win the Tacky Hammer Award. We ask each team to set a goal of raising $4,000 for Eureka’s home. That’s only $400 per team member! This is a goal, not a requirement.
- Each team will have a dedicated day in June to help build Eureka’s home. All team members will receive a Women Build 2024 t-shirt, be treated to lunch, and have a rewarding day knowing they are making a difference for a family and a community.

My name is Eureka and I am a single mother of three. Tyrone (10), Tania (8), and Tiana (6) are their names. I really want to buy a home so myself and my children can have something that is ours. I try to keep them in sports so they don’t get bored and into trouble.
I have been working as a para-educator at Harford County Public Schools for 16 years now. I enjoy working there and I love the fact that I’m home when the kids get off from school. I feel that I have been doing things the right way to give them a better life.
But sometimes it seems what I do isn’t good enough. Honestly, I need a home that I can afford and something that we can actually call home. I hope you give me this opportunity to become a homeowner.
