Great opportunity that gives back to the community and helps struggling low-income families obtain a safe, decent home. We build and rehab modest homes in Harford and Cecil Counties and need a good home construction supervisor that works with families, volunteers, and trades.

Job Summary: Construction Supervisor that directly supervises volunteers and subcontractors in new home construction and rehabilitation. Responsible for on-site safety, quality of construction, and meeting schedules. Qualified candidate will possess excellent communication skills, people skills, and an understanding of the Habitat for Humanity mission. Must have good driving record and construction management experience. Full-time work week Tuesday – Saturday in Harford and Cecil Counties. Excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervises volunteers and subcontractors
  • Schedules work in field
  • Maintains material inventory
  • Oversees vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Able to meet deadlines

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years of residential construction experience (preferred)
  • 2 years of building a home from the ground up (preferred)
  • 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work well with a diverse group of people with varying skills
  • Good driving record
  • Proficient with computers

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Harford and Cecil Counties

Salary: $45,000.00 – $57,000.00 per year

AmeriCorps Members Recruitment

Construction Crew Leader

The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skills and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.

Repair Coordinator 

Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna’s Repair Program is the largest and fastest growing department, providing services to over 340 homes overall, and completing 757 repairs in 2021 alone. The AmeriCorps National Repair Coordinator will play a crucial role in fostering healthy growth for the program by supporting Repair Program marketing and recruitment efforts, and by helping to streamline the client application process.

The Repair Coordinator will assist in recruiting applicants who are in need of critical home repairs and weatherization, working alongside the Repair Program Manager to oversee the application process. This position will also be responsible for coordinating contractors and homeowners in completing repairs in a timely manner. The member will support the department’s revival of neighborhood revitalization projects such as A Brush With Kindness and Cecil Cares Day (a local neighborhood revitalization event). In addition to working with and leading the Repair Core Volunteer team to complete home repair and weatherization projects, the Repair Coordinator will also assist on the new construction build site once a week, to gain home construction knowledge and skills.
